    In this module, learners will explore the definition of higher-risk buildings under the Building Safety Act. They will gain an understanding of the height and usage criteria that classify a building as higher-risk, and the legal obligations that come with managing these buildings.

    Learners will identify the key roles of Accountable Persons, Principal Designers, and Principal Contractors in ensuring building safety. They will also understand the distinctions between duties outlined in the Building Safety Act and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

    This module covers the essential outputs such as the Safety Case Report and the "Golden Thread" of information. Learners will understand how these outputs are critical for demonstrating ongoing compliance and managing building safety risks effectively.

    Learners will be introduced to the Gateway process, which establishes safety checkpoints throughout a building’s lifecycle. They will learn about the different stages of the Gateway process and the importance of these safety controls in ensuring compliance.

    This module highlights the importance of resident involvement in building safety decisions. Learners will understand how to develop and maintain a Resident Engagement Strategy, fostering transparency and ensuring that residents' safety concerns are addressed.

    To pass this course learners will need to demonstrate their knowledge with a short 10 question assessment.
